Spring Fayre 2012

Thank you to everyone who supported and helped at our annual event in the Reading Rooms, Billericay. This year we had to contend with the rain but we still came out with a healthy £400 profit.
We were pleased to welcome Tony Dunne to our team, selling his bird nesting boxes. We were all taken by the innovative little houses that will be an attractive talking point in our gardens, even without the birds! If you were not there to buy one this time round you will be pleased to know that Tony has asked to be present at the November bazaar, so note the date in your diary - Saturday 24 November - and buy your nesting box ready for next spring. More information about this event will be published nearer the time.

My Guide

Volunteers Wanted for Special Project

We are currently seeking volunteers for the My Guide project which is being run in partnership with Guide Dogs. 180,000 blind and partially sighted people find it hard to go out alone. Just a few hours of your time each week can change that. The new My Guide service helps people with sight loss get out of their homes and back into the community. My Guide aims to reduce the isolation that many blind people experience, helping to rebuild their confidence and regain their independence.
